Barcelona are facing a potential summer exodus in their academy amid a number of expiring deals for their young stars.
It’s been an impressive campaign to date for Hansi Flick’s side who currently sit top of LaLiga and have reached the quarter-final stages of the Champions League.
However, despite rumoured interest in Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, the Spanish giants are reportedly preparing for a big shake-up this summer amid issues within their academy.
According to Spanish outlet SPORT, the Catalan side face the daunting prospect of losing as many as ten youngsters from their Under-19 team this summer.
Most of that cohort see their current deals expire on June 30th and the club are yet to offer the majority of those affected a new contract, as it stands.
Clubs across Europe will certainly take an interest in the plethora of stars set to walk away from La Masia – with the likes of Chelsea’s Marc Guiu being a recent example of a player who left Barcelona to prove their talents elsewhere.

The same outlet claim that youngsters such as Arnau Pradas, Hugo Alba and Jan Virgili are the standout talents to keep an eye on, should they leave the club.
The aforementioned three had all been earmarked as part of Flick’s long-term plans to integrate into Barcelona’s first-team side in the future.
Recent history would suggest that the players would be better off staying with the Spanish giants, who have a track record of bringing through young talent.
Winger Lamine Yamal has set the football world alight since his breakthrough into men’s football at just 16-years-old.
Meanwhile, centre-back Pau Cubarsi has been a revelation for Flick’s side after emerging as a first-team candidate at the beginning of the campaign.
While there could be a number of outgoings from Barcelona in the summer, there could also be huge stars heading the opposite direction.
Mail Sport revealed earlier in the week that Barcelona watched Alexander Isak during Newcastle’s win at West Ham, and it is said the Spanish giants want a marquee signing ahead of their first full season at the redeveloped Nou Camp.
Barca president Joan Laporta is a huge admirer of Isak, who played in LaLiga for Real Sociedad, and won a Copa Del Rey with the Basque side.
