The celebrity couple reportedly heard a window smash and an alarm when raiders targeted their home
Pregnant Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright’s huge Essex mansion was targeted by masked raiders on Tuesday evening (February 18) according to reports.
The 37-year-old Brassic star and her reality TV star husband is said to have heard their porch window smash before their alarm system went off. It has been reported four suspects were in the home for close to a minute before rushing out.
Authorities were then alerted via the couple’s security system. The couple were relieved for their safety and that nothing was stolen from their £3.5million mansion, but were reportedly ‘very shaken up’ by the incident according to the Mirror.
An Essex Police spokesperson said the force’s investigation into the burglary was continuing. A statement said: “It was reported four suspects had forced entry to an address, carrying out a search of the property before fleeing.
“Within eight minutes, our officers were on the scene. We are continuing to support and safeguard the victims and are conducting high-visibility patrols in the area.
“We are exploring a number of lines of inquiry including but not limited to forensic opportunities, CCTV and witness statements. Anyone with information should contact us as soon as possible.”
Speaking about the raid, a source told The Sun: “It was a traumatic experience for both of them but they are relieved that neither of them were injured. Mark did the sensible thing and stayed with his wife to make sure she was OK and they waited for police to arrive before leaving the room.”
In recent years, after the couple purchased the lavish pad, they have shared updates on their renovations with fans on an Instagram page dedicated to their home.
Most recently, the couple’s home Instagram account – which boasts almost 700,000 followers, gave a peek into the amazing transformation of their spiral staircase.
They also previously shared updates on their garden renovations, swimming pool addition, driveway changes and more. It comes after the former Coronation Street star revealed that she was expecting her first baby with husband Mark at the end of December, and has mainly been enjoying her journey into motherhood in private.
