Finley Leech was found with ‘blood pouring’ down his arm
Three teenage boys have been arrested after a boy was ‘attacked with a machete’ and had his e-bike stolen in a Rochdale nature reserve.
Finley Leech, 19, was left in a ‘state of shock’ after the three teens pounced on him on a football pitch off East Gate in Whitworth on April 4. The 19-year-old was assaulted by the boys, at least one of whom was armed with a machete.
He suffered a cut to his arm and swelling to his head as the robbers made off with his expensive electric bike worth around £4,000.
Speaking to the M.E.N. last week, Finley’s dad Ben said he found his son ‘completely white with blood pouring onto his right sleeve’.
“Fin phoned me in a state of panic, he was shouting that his bike had been taken and told me that he had been hit with a machete,” he continued.
“He was just really screaming, get the police! Get the police!
“I eventually met up with him at the Whitworth end of Healey Dell, there’s a bike track there that I’m sure attracts a lot of kids when the weather’s nice.
“I got down there still on the phone to the police, I met with Finley who was still in a state of shock, completely white with blood pouring onto his right sleeve.”
Finley was treated at hospital but has now recovered and returned to work. Today, police confirmed three boys aged 16 and 17 have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and bailed pending further enquiries.
“We were called at 8.10pm on April 4 to a report of a robbery which happened on a football pitch off East Gate in Whitworth,” Lancashire Police said.
